This webpage is intended to provide brief instructions for using the W9RES UHF System Fusion II repeater with your personal Yaesu digital radio. It is difficult to duplicate all of the resources available on the Yaesu website for each transceiver. For the most detailed instructions, please visit the Yaesu Digital website, select your individual transceiver, and review the instructions for Wires-X operation. In most cases there is a seperate manual for Wires-X that may be downloaded from the "Files" tab.

Tune your radio to 443.150 MHz, ( + ), PL 100.0 Hz.
Listen to make sure the repeater/frequency is not in use. If you hear traffic and see callsigns on the screen of your radio, it is likely that someone else has the repeater connected to a room in Wires-X mode. You may still proceed to the next step.
If you hear traffic and recognize it as local, please wait until the channel is clear before proceeding to step 4.
Using the "D X" button, push and hold to access the Wires-X function of your radio. The radio will transmit to the DR-2X repeater a connection request for Wires-X. It is not possible to use the repeater locally in C4FM mode when connected to Wires-X.
The Wires-X icon will flash on the screen until a connection is established.
If there is a room connected already, please consider that someone else is using the repeater for Wires-X and has connected to that room. The name of the connected room will appear in white at the bottom of your screen. If there is not a connected room, you will likely see a room name grayed out at the bottom of your screen. You may proceed with connecting to the room of your choice.
To connect to a room there are multiple options:
a. Touch the grayed out room name on the bottom of the screen, or push the PTT switch to connect to the last room.
b. Touch the triangle on the screen. The menu list will appear.
i. Select [ALL] to see all active rooms.
ii. Select [Search & Direct] to type in a room name.
iii. Select [C1, C2, C3....] and select a room saved to your radio memory.
The local Wires-X software is set up to disconnect from a room after 60 minutes when there is no local activity through the W9RES UHF repeater.
To talk with other operators, use the PTT key on your microphone. Remember to pause for 2-3 seconds after pushing the PTT key before speaking.
When you have finished and wish to disconnect from the active room, press and hold [ * ] on the microphone for mobile devices, or press and hold [ BAND ] on handheld devices.
Please be considerate of others that may be using the Wires-X system through our W9RES UHF repeater.
The DTMF code for the W9RES Wires-X Node (repeater) is 33355.
The DTMF code for the W9RES Room is 43355.
The W9RES room can be used like any other room in Wires-X, and is open to all operators at this time. If, in the future, we wish to restrict access minor settings will need to be changed in the local Wires-X software configuration.
