Lakeshore Amateur Radio Service Club, Inc prides itself on the contributions we make to the community and citizens of Manitowoc County. Most of our efforts go unnoticed except to those that are directly impacted and witness to our efforts. Some of the contribution we make to Manitowoc County include, but are not limited to:
Maintaining three repeaters in the county for use, especially during times of emergency.
Training and volunteering our time to ensure that when our services are needed, we are ready to "pass traffic".
Participate in drills and exercises with Manitowoc Emergency Management
Maintain amateur radio stations at the County Emergency Operations Center, Holy Family Memorial Hospital, the Joint Information Center, our clubhouse and in our personal homes for use during emergencies.
Maintain a Winlink (email by radio) system at Holy Family Memorial Hospital.
Maintain and practice analog and digital communications, to include a C4FM/Wires-X capable repeater.
Among those contributions we make to the community, it is important for our operators to know that their families will be supported and taken care of when the time comes to append "Silent Key" to one's callsign. It is an overwhelming task for surviving spouses to sort through and disassemble our home stations. We are here to help.
